James D. Fogarty is a founding member of Legacy Preservation. He also owns Fogarty Creative Group, a communications firm. He spent 11 years as a staff writer for the Omaha World-Herald and 20 years in corporate communications before he figured out he was never designed to work in a corporate setting. Fogarty helped his father complete his own family history book, and that process opened his eyes to the importance of preserving personal stories.

Fogarty is past president of the Omaha Press Club, a former trustee of the Omaha Public Library, and was a long-time panelist on KETV Channel 7’s Sunday morning news analysis program, “Kaleidoscope.” Fogarty has received numerous journalism, writing and speaking awards from professional associations and various universities.
