John Dechant is an Omaha-based writer and public relations professional. He has contributed to Legacy Preservation since 2008 as a writer, researcher and project manager.

 

Dechant graduated from Creighton University in 2005 with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications. In 2008, he received a Master’s Degree – also from Creighton – in the field of Liberal Studies. His thesis, titled “Baseball Statistics in the Steroids Era,” examined the ethical implications of cheating in professional sports.

 

Since 2008, Dechant has been a frequent contributor to Fogarty Creative Group (FCG), a specialty publishing, communications, public relations and consulting firm in Omaha. He has written extensively for various publications, including Nebraska Golfer Magazine, Metro Magazine and the Nebraska Golf Association Web site.
